Skin Boosters works by stimulating your own production of collagen and elastin within your skin which, over time, aims to give you a tighter and more youthful appearance rejuvenating your skin from the deep layers up to the surface of your skin. Your skin tone and texture will also be improved along with overall hydration of the skin.
Although Skin Boosters contains hyaluronic acid – an substance that occurs naturally in the body, it is not dermal filler and does not plump or add any volume to the areas treated. Profhilo instead is a unique treatment rivalling dermal fillers with its quick treatment time and only 5 injection points for each side of the face.
It’s classed as a non Surgery face lift.
With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg/2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the raging and sagging tissue.
Treatment description
Both Skin Booster used at Verve Aesthetics is injected using a unique specialised technique called BAP (BIO AESTHETIC POINTS). The BAP technique is 5 entry points of injection for each side of the face. This technique is proven to be anatomically safe avoiding the large vessels and nerves within the face and will give you maximised results with the minimum number of injections required.
Results can be seen by 4 weeks after your first treatment but many patients may be able to see improvement after 1-2 days post treatment and some may not see an improvement until after their second treatment. The full effects of a skin booster treatment are not seen until 8-10 weeks after your first treatment.

Why do we need B12?
B12 deficiency is a great mimicker as it can imitate many other diseases. Our body needs Vitamin B12 for a number of vital functions like energy formation, DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation and myelin formation (the insulation around your nerve endings that allows them to communicate). So it is easy to imagine what could happen if you have a deficiency. Below is a small snapshot:

Vitamin B12 deficiencies are commoner than other B vitamins for a few reasons. The 4 most common reasons are:
- Pernicious anaemia (an autoimmune disorder of a lack of red blood cells due to the body not being to absorb enough vitamin B12)
- A vegetarian or vegan diet. B12 is most abundantly found in animal products. Vegan sources of B12 are nutritional yeast (marmite), algae and seaweed, fortified foods eg cereals. However, absorption can be erratic.
- Low stomach acidity. This is an increasingly common problem especially since many people these days seem to be on antacids to counter perceived high stomach acidity. Normal acid levels are required for optimal B12 absorption.
- Problems with the absorption of nutrients. Many people have ‘subclinical’ gut issues. If you have a lot of gas, acid reflux, belching, loose motion and/or constipation, brain fog, migraines, joint pains etc, you probably have a gut issue like SIBO, leaky gut or irritable bowel syndrome. Many people don’t realise that they have gut issues.
